Concrete Patios

There are several factors that contribute to their popularity.

Concrete can be smooth, broomed, stained, integrally colored, scored, or stamped and patterned to look like other materials such as stone and brick. The cement can also be washed away to create an exposed aggregate finish. The versatility of concrete is unparalleled by any other material.

The cost of installation is relatively cheap when compared with other material such as pavers and stones. They are also usually cheaper than wood decks which have higher material and labor costs.

Concrete requires less maintenance than decks and pavers. Resealing a deck can consume a lot of time and the joints of pavers and stone have to continuously be refilled with sand and treated for grass and weeds.

Concrete is one of the most durable building materials. When installed correctly, concrete will outlast any deck and is resistant to uneven settlement that stones and pavers are subject to.

If you alredy have a patio but are tired of the dull gray look, then consider staining it or applying a colored sealer. Maybe it’s structurally sound but the surface has damage. An overlay can solve this problem rather than tearing it out and replacing it.
